Reko Diq Mining Company, operated by Barrick and a joint venture with the Government of Balochistan and the Government of Pakistan, is recruiting a team of high caliber individuals for the development of its outstanding, world-class mining project-the Reko Diq copper-gold mine in Balochistan.

The position of Senior Purchaser the Department of Supply Chain located at Karachi.

The Qualification required is Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business, Economics, or Law. along with Experience of Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in procurement, with a focus on strategic sourcing, vendor management, and contract negotiation, preferably in a mining or industrial environment.

Requirements for this role include Proven experience in managing complex procurement activities and delivering cost savings, with hands-on experience in SAP and Ariba considered an advantage. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and generate actionable insights. Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal, complemented by interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and vendors. Demonstrate strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, along with a solid understanding of procurement best practices, contract law, and ethical sourcing principles.

Responsibilities of the selected candidate include Lead sourcing for complex categories and develop procurement strategies aligned with business objectives. Analyze spend data to identify cost-saving opportunities and monitor market trends, emerging technologies, and best practices. Manage a portfolio of critical vendors, evaluate performance, and negotiate contracts while mentoring junior purchasers in sourcing and vendor management. Streamline procurement processes, support implementation of procurement policies and technology solutions, and ensure compliance with company standards. Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and participate in cross-functional procurement initiatives to optimize efficiency and value.
